Very fine, French, Louis XV period console table

In solid, carved giltwood; of Rocaille form with arbalette front, cabriole legs, acanthus ornament, original, Breche marble top, and upper and lower cartouche (pierced shell aprons). Mid-18th century.

Having rosewood veneers; with a reversible, gilt, embossed leather top, the reverse inlaid with an ebony and ivory chess board; the inside opening to reveal a recessed backgammon surface; having one drawer and two original candleholders. Circa 1725.

Of large dimensions with rounded backs draped with acanthus leaves, having Greek key apron and arms terminating in acanthus leaf carving; the front legs tapered and fluted, the rear legs of sabre form. Circa 1800.

Exceptional, French, Neoclassical period commode

Of demi-lune form having acajou moucheté (plum pudding mahogany) veneers and original hand-beveled marble top; having three central drawers, each one framed with bronze ornament and two functioning side compartments with hinged doors. Circa 1780.

Stamped F. REIZELL twice to top and G. KEMP once to top.

François Reizell was a German ébéniste who established his workshop on the faubourg Saint-Antoine. In 1770 he moved to the rue des Saints-Pères. His principal client was the prince de Condé for whom he supplied pieces at the Palais Bourbon and for the country houses at Chantilly and Villegenis.
