With bow front tops above panel inset doors, raised on bracket feet, the whole painted with scrolls and flowering leafage on a pale green ground. Late 18th or early 19th century. (One of identical pair shown)

With double chapeau de gendarme cornice and fold-down writing surface. Upper compartment comprised of two doors which open to reveal six drawers. Bottom, fold-down writing compartment opens to reveal five additional drawers. Mid-18th century.

Item No. 1167
Large, Important, French cache pot
Manufactured by the royal porcelain maker, Sèvres, in painted and gilded porcelain with gilt bronze mounts for the last French King, Louis Phillippe (r. 1830-1848).
The interior bears two stamps, the first having the King's monogram (LP) and the date (1844), and the other bearing the mark for "Château des tuileries", the royal residence where the piece was to be displayed.
