With curved ends and three seats, each seat having a circular cane-back panel inset with a hand-painted medallion, the whole resting upon elegantly-tapered legs and painted in bellflowers. Late 18th century.

In solid, carved mahogany, curvilinear in form, with Neoclassical elements including cornucopia and paterae (circular or oval ornament resembling a dish, often decorated with leaves and petals. Commonly seen in a frieze in architecture or on a corner block in furniture), the legs of umbrella shape ending in casters. Circa 1835.

Pair of very fine, Regency, giltwood benches
In solid, carved giltwood, each with outscrolled-ends and a seat covered in cream silk damask by Brunscwhig & Fils, with paneled friezes applied with oak leaves and acorns, on incurved legs with lion's paw feet, the underside of each inscribed 65.1137 B and 38584.
Probably Northern European, circa 1810.
Provenance: Acquired from Partridge, London, 21 November 1990.
Each bench is 30½" high by 65" wide by 19½" deep

With pierced framework carved with rose branches and husk swags amidst s and c-scrolls and surmounted by ho ho birds at the shoulders, centering a tiered scrollwork crest. Late 18th or early 19th century.
