Double face with six functioning drawers, curvilinear in form resting on
four cabriole legs, the veneer done in parquetry of Tulipwood, the top inset with gilt-tooled brown leather, the whole adorned with bronze dore mounts. Part re-veneered. Circa 1735.

In palissandre de Rio (Brazilian rosewood) with bronze d'ore mounts, the whole resting upon cabriole legs terminating in bronze sabot feet. Slant front opens to reveal a leather writing surface and five drawers. Circa 1750.

Exceptional, Venetian, Rococo period, Lacca Povera commode scriban
The rectangular top above the slant-front, opening to a writing surface with a central pigeonhole flanked by four short drawers, above the serpentine-fronted body with two long drawers, the paneled sides, raised on cabriole legs.
Lacca Povera (also known as "Lacca Contrafatta") was a form of art originating in Venice incorporating decoupage (the cutting out of figural or natural forms), which are adhered to a solid surface, painted and hand-engraved, and then covered with a layer of layer of lacquer.
Mid-18th century.

The hinged top fitted with a ratchet mechanism above a leather-lined writing surface and one drawer fitted with a sliding leather-lined surface and a secret inkwell drawer, flanked by candle slides, raised on tapering fluted legs ending in sabots.
Last quarter of the 18th century. In the Manner of David Roentgen.

In solid, carved walnut; with five conforming drawers; have writing surface inset with decorative, gilt-embossed leather blotter, each side with tirets (additional pull out writing surfaces), the whole delicately sculpted with flowers and other vegetation and resting upon four slightly cabriole legs. In solid mahogany and mahogany veneers with brass trim. Gold-embossed leather writing surface reverses to reveal felt card-playing surface. Inside reveals original ebony and ivory inlaid backgammon board. Tapered, fluted legs ending in brass casters. Two drawers hold matching white and green-tinted ivory playing pieces. Late 18th century.
