In solid carved walnut, vigorously sculpted with leaves, vines and other vegetation; the façade featuring framed allegorical figures and flanked by caryatids, the gadrooned lid with tabernacle featuring sliding door which opens to reveal secret compartment, the bottom apron adorned with garlands of fruit, the whole resting upon elongated claw feet. Circa: 1550. Tuscany.

In solid, carved walnut, having four elaborately sculpted doors, each one with an allegorical figure centered within a floral medallion representing the four seasons, also having a central drawer with embracing cherubs flanked by winged putti.

The whole vigorously carved with foliate rinceaux design, vegetation and birds and resting on bun feet. Circa 1610-1630.

In solid, carved walnut having cabriole legs ending in pied de biche (deer feet) and reversable top, one side (shown) with marquetry inlaid board for checkers, the other in green felt suitable for card playing. Removing the top reveals an inset, marquetry-inlaid backgammon board. The whole delicately carved. Late 18th or early 19th century from Nimes, France.

In solid, carved walnut, the rectangular top above a conforming case with a breakfronted dentil molded edge, above two molded frieze drawers centered and flanked by putti heads over a pair of paneled doors centered by rayed ovals within with scroll carved border between stiles carved with standing putto figures and pendent foliage, raised on a conforming plinth.

Mid-16th century.
