French, Louis XV period, giltwood canape

With exhuberantly-carved, sepentine frame, quintessential Louis XV motifs including seashells, acanthus leaves, and foliage, having three seats upholstered in floral-patterned, silk damask, the whole resting upon eight cabriole legs.

Mid-18th century, attributed to Louis Cresson.

French, Louis XVI style, gilt bronze and alabaster mantle clock

Delicately cast bronze, crowned with two seated cherubim, one holding grapes and the other a triangle; the clock's face surmounted by a Bacchic mask, flanked by ram's heads and ornamental, flowering trees; the whole mercury gilded and liberally adorned with acanthus leaves and resting upon an alabaster base and highly stylized, toupee feet.

First half of the 19th century.

Seated in dhyanasana on a lotus base set on a tiered plinth, the hands held upward in the lap, the eyes downcast in a meditative pose under tightly curled hair and a domed ushisha, dressed in layered robes left open at the chest, al before a solid madela. Edo Period, Japan.

In solid, elaborately carved giltwood with Serravezza marble top, pierced skirt centered by a Rococo foliate ornament, complex volute floral and foliate-carved cabriole legs, and arched foliate stretcher. Mid-18th century.

Provenance: Formerly part of the furnishings at The Audubon House, Key West, FL; previously on exhibition at the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Miami, FL.

Circa 1814-1822.
