In solid, carved oak with original rouge griotte marble top; intricate foliate rinceaux carving on all sides; pierced apron centered by a large shell; the whole above four cabriole legs connected by entretoise (stretcher) decorated with acanthus leaves and centered with a sunflower (the symbol of Louis XIV, "The Sun King").

In solid, carved walnut. Each with arched upholstered rectangular back, volute acanthus carved armrests, terminating in sunflowers, raised on volute acanthus carved supports; the rectangular seat raised on cabriole legs joined by wavy H-shaped stretcher and terminating in acanthus carved bun feet. Close nail upholstered in floral damask with silk fringe around seat. Circa 1700.
